About the foundation
After being told by her senior secondary school teacher to go into modelling because of her slender body size and boldness, Naomi heed to the advice of her teacher and chose modelling as her passion and career. Years after practising and hard work, Naomi Kay contested for the 2016 Face of Africa International Beauty Pageant in Istanbul, Turkey and she eventually won the pageant -- her first international win. Due to numerous support and positive reactions she got from Sierra Leoneans which led her to winning the 2016 Face of Africa International Beauty Pageant, Naomi Kay became inspired and founded the Naomi Kay Foundation in 2016 to supports underprivileged kids and girl child education in Sierra Leone. Coming from a very tough but humble background, Naomi Kay's passion and love for children is inspiring. She has supported dozens of vulnerable and underprivileged kids under her foundation.
One of her amazing philosophies is that 'you don't have to be wealthy to help people'; this humanitarian philosophy is what has been fuelling her passion to help more vulnerable kids especially the girl child and provide them with the best education they deserve. The Naomi Kay Foundation has succeded in sending drop-out children back to school over the course of few years since its establishment. The foundation operates not just in the capital Freetown, but also in the country's provinces like the North and Southern provinces. As Queen Rania of Jordan said, "If you educate a woman, you educate a family, if you educate a girl, you educate the future." The foundation is keen to help more vulnerable and underprivileged kids especially girls in the long run.
